Helyg: Lego Coding Workshop - Tue, 12th May 2026
Dosbarth Helyg had a fantastic time with Rachel and Emyr from Xplore during their Lego Coding Workshop. We built our own Milo Robots and programmed them to move around the room.
Helyg: Pentrellyncymer 2026 - Mon, 11th May 2026
Dosbarth Helyg enjoyed an absolutely unforgettable residential trip to Pentre this year. The class threw themselves into every challenge with real enthusiasm – from taking on adventurous outdoor activities like gorge walking and canoeing, to working together brilliantly as a team – and their confidence grew with every new experience.
They especially loved spending time together beyond the classroom: strengthening friendships, discovering new talents, and creating memories they’ll treasure. It was the kind of trip that leaves everyone a little braver, a little prouder, and already excited for the next big adventure.

Blwyddyn 3&4 thoroughly enjoyed their Samba session with First Experience Practitioner Jonny Baxter – as part of a new National Music Plan. What a brilliant afternoon! 🤩 We can’t wait for our next music session! 🎶🥁🎼
Helyg: Thoughtful Thursday - Thu, 23rd Nov 2023
Blwyddyn 3 a 4 really enjoyed visiting Reverend Luke at St Peter’s Church for Thoughtful Thursday. We discussed our value for this half term…Trust. We talked about the people we trust and we had a brilliant time playing games! 🤩
Dobarth Onnen & Helyg - Fri, 11th May 2018
During the spring term, Years 3 and 4 have been taking part in a very exciting project! Ysgol Borthyn have been participating in a Lead Creative Schools Project in conjunction with the Arts Council of Wales. It is designed to nurture the creativity of young people, raise their aspirations and achievements and prepare them with the skills for life-long learning.
This has meant that the children have had the opportunity to work with two creative artists, Martin Daws a spoken word poet and Alana Tyson a Canadian born artist who now lives in Wales. Our Project was called “Together”.
They focused on getting the children to collaborate and work together cooperatively as well as developing their oracy skills. An amazing experience for them all.
